About the Zero Carbon Australia Transport Plan

Transport accounts for approximately 17 per cent of Australia’s domestic greenhouse gas emissions.

Road vehicles account for 85 per cent of this and 14 per cent of Australia’s total domestic emissions.

Roads have been at the centre of transport planning for most of the past century but this must change for the years ahead.

Our research into this complicated and diverse area has been undertaken in collaboration with the University of Melbourne's Melbourne Energy Institute, the German Aerospace Centre (DLR),  MRCagney, and the Centre for Energy and Environmental Markets (CEEM).
