VIC - Film Night - 'Drying For Freedom'

Are you ready to hear the inconvenient truth about tumble dryers? No, really!

Beyond Zero Emissions is screening 'Drying For Freedom', a film that explores how corporate interests, consumer habits and local legislation have made the simple act of drying clothes more emissions-intensive in many countries around the world. British filmmaker Steven Lake criss-crosses the globe in an effort to understand why it can be difficult for people to make sustainable choices in their daily lives.

After the film we will be joined by guest speakers Lisa Caripis, Anne Kallies and a representative from the AYCC. Our discussion will consider the role of the law in facilitating the implementation of climate change solutions, with a particular focus on the restrictive wind farm planning laws introduced by the Baillieu government in Victoria.

Ticket prices are $7 online or $10 at the door.
